Lagan D. Swift, also known as "Hummingbird Swift" and commonly as "Swift", is a pirate and the main character of Great Bounty. He is the son of Lagan D. Rafferty and Queen Barkentine Fair, and the brother of Lagan D. Holiday. Swift is a pirate, and his lifelong dream is to reunite with his father to explore the world, however this dream changes after first hearing of the Great Treasure of One Piece. He has eaten the Soku Soku no Mi, which allows the consumer to move at incredible speeds. As founder and captain of the Black Coat Pirates, he is the first member of the crew, as well as one of its top fighters.
Swift has a reputation for causing trouble and disaster, challenging the World Government and Marines, additionally committing felonies which are deemed horrific by the World Government. He is noted to be "insane" and "wild" after causing a rebellion in the Koya Kingdom, destroying the ancient relics of the Gypsy Mace, causing an incident which lead to the War of the Red Line, and creating the Four Skulls Armada in the New World.
These acts, among other things, have given him his current bounty of 440,000,000, one of the highest present bounties in Great Bounty. Having been one of the four founding members of the Four Skulls Armada (フォー頭蓋骨艦隊; Fō zugaikotsu kantai) and crossing the Red Line, he is one of the four pirate crews referred to as "The Four Great Disasters" (四大災害; Shi Dai Saigai).
