Scott D. Ranmaru otherwise known as The Tormentor (コットキスコット Kurushimeru Hito) is the founder of the Scott Family and has allied himself and his family with numerous organizations. He is the husband of Izuna, biological father of Scott D. Keith and Scott D. Misty, the grandfather of Scott D. Rio and Scott D. Ren, and is the adopted father of all of the other members. 

Despite his age, Ranmaru is still revered as one of the most dangerous men in the world and because of his family's reputation, has given him an even more threatening name. Along with being the leader of the Scott Family, he is also one of the elders of the Mahora Tribe, and has passed on his genes to both his son and daughter, along with their children.

Before founding the Scott Family, Ranmaru and his wife Izuna were a bounty hunting duo that created The Enforcers, a small mercenary group that purged the Grand Line of several famous pirates. 

In his youth, he was known as the Tormentor for his terrifying habit of leaving his enemies in complete ruin.
